|
Effect of carbon disulphide (CS₂) concentration on the dormancy breaking in seed potatoes of cvs. Superior, Jopung and Dejima was investigated. Sprouting ratio and growth of sprout were recorded with CS₂-treated seed tubers, pre-sprouted in moist sand bed. Plant growth and tuber yield were investigated with sprouted seed tubers, planted in the field. Concentrations of 24-36 mL/㎥ of CS₂ in cv. Superior and 12-24 mL/㎥ in cv. Jopung were more suitable for the dormancy breaking. However, the effect of CS₂ on cv. Dejima which has shallower seed dormancy was not observed.
